WHAT IS THE TRUMBULL COUNTY DRUG COURT?
TCDC is a specialized court responsible for handling non-violent; drug/alcohol related cases through intensive supervision and substance abuse treatment. TCDC will provide offenders an opportunity to address their substance abuse issues with full support from the Judge, treatment coordinator, probation officers, law enforcement officials, prosecuting and defense attorneys, and addiction specialists. TCDC is a highly structured program that focuses on responsibility and accountability.
Through TCDC, participants will be required to follow specific expectations as set forth by the court, the probation department, and local treatment facilities. TCDC has been established to provide immediate and consistent treatment for those individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System who have substance abuse issues.
Our Mission...
The mission of the Trumbull County Drug Court is to reduce substance abuse and to serve as an alternative to incarceration among non-violent offenders entering into the criminal justice system. To reduce recidivism among probationers who have failed to comply with substance abuse treatment as a sanction of community control. To further develop participants' employability, education levels and life skills for successful community reentry.
Our Goal...
The Trumbull County Drug Court (TCDC) is a partnership between the courts, prosecutor's office, public defender, city and county law enforcement and local treatment providers. The overall goal of TCDC is to utilize court services to identify non-violent male and female felony offenders with substance abuse problems and offer immediate and individualized treatment services to rehabilitate these individuals, ultimately decreasing criminal activity with the community and the need for imprisonment.
